Virtual reality is a roleplay site about, as the name suggests, a virtual universe. In the not to distant future scientists created a high tech video game called The Game. The Game was not originally called the Game, but when the war broke out, everyone forgot what the real name was, and it was referred to as the Game. Not long after they developed another version. They made it for fun, but over time it has become dangerous. The Government has banned the game from being used, except by the military for training, but a resistance has arisen and gotten possession of the game. The Rebellion is fighting the tyrannical Government to regain rights for civilians and to free the world of cruel leaders. Little does anyone know, but the game is still used for fun on another planet colonized by Earth, but has long since been forgotten. A rebellion is in its infant stages on the world of Zeme, will it be able to bring down the Vlad from its remote base, or will it fail to grow? Will the resistance be able to crush the Vlad and help the Rebellion on Earth, and free the people of Zeme of the tyrannical government? Will the people on Zeme discover the war going on in their beloved game or will they remain ignorant? Will the resistance bring down the Vlad, or will the Vlad prevail and punish the rebels and their sympathizers?
Obviously you've noticed the involuntary change pushed on us. Sadly this meant I had to rework all of the coding. That unfortunately led to us restarting out money count. There will be little change until I can figure out more about this new system. I will still manually take the money from your account when you purchase something. As of now you will only receive 1 penny from posting and exalting will give none. There is also a bank with a 1.5% interest that you can deposit money into. It is found at the bottom left of the screen. There is a stock market there temporarily, but I will likely remove it soon. There is also a possibility of us adding jobs soon with wages.
The leader stared blankly at Fortis for a few moments. Finally he scanned the man's coat and nodded slowly before speaking in a sarcastic tone, "Sure." He shook his head and looked at his men, "Take what you want."
The man holding Dyer down began patting him down for weapons, never moving the blade from the defeated man's throat. He found the pouch of poison hidden in a pocket sewn into Dyer's belt. "Those swords look nice too. I think I'll have them," the man smiled cruelly before removing the swords from their sheaths.
Two more men dismounted and advanced on the others, one to Fortis and one to Lilly. The one that went to Fortis punched him in the chest where the firebomb potion supposedly was. "Good thing you were bluffing, eh?" The man laughed, then pulled the sword away from him, "I believe this is mine now."
The third man smiled evilly as he approached Lilly, "Let's see what you have hidden up your sleeves." He brushed her face, "Maybe I'll just take you as my prize."
"Get her weapons and let's split," the leader snapped.
The man grumbled and began patting Lilly down. He found the dagger she was trying to keep hidden, "My, ain't this a beauty. Why don't I look after it for you, make sure some ruffian doesn't take it."
He finished searching for weapons then grabbed her hand and kissed it. With a mocking voice he said, "Maybe next time milady." With laughs the three of them mounted their horses and the entire group rode away.
Dyer struggled to his feet and cursed at them. He turned to Fortis, "Good try on that firebomb potion. Too bad they were smarter than your average thieves."
Lilly glared at the man as he searched her, resisting the urge to make a move against him. She cringed a little as he found the dagger, cursing to herself. Lilly stepped back from him and pulled her hand away, though her glare rested on him until he was on his horse. "Crap." She muttered the word under her breath, hoping neither Fortis nor Dyer heard. There's on prize gone.
Looking between the two men, Lilly spoke. "Well, this sucks." She glanced in the direction the riders had taken before shaking her head, some people. "Maybe next time, yeah, next time I'll put a knife in that oh so clever heart of his." She kicked a rock, thinking about how she was going to replace the dagger. Because nice knives are a necessity, and I don't have the money to buy. She smirked internally.
Fortis was infuriated. These criminals were contemptible. It is one thing to attack a group and scavenge the loot and weapons from the bodies, but what these men did was without any scrap of honor. These weren't criminals men. Evilly, they even threatened a defenseless woman, a sin that Fortis and his best men never forgive. In the real world or in the Game.
Although the criminals took his longsword, Fortis still had his crossbow, hand-and-a-half, and his knives. The sword was replaceable, the gangs' actions were not. Tenaciously, Fortis decided to hunt these men down. From the livid looks of his companions, they were thinking the same thing.
"Well, this is a roadblock on our way to Metroid," Fortis pointed out. "It looks like y'all are thinking 'bout hunting those villains. Care if I join?"

Dyer watched the men go with hatred in his eyes. He could get more swords, but that poison couldn't be out in the world. It was too dangerous, especially in the hands of a psychotic gang like these men. He needed to get it back. Not to mention he had grown attached to the swords and didn't want them being used by anybody else.
"By all means. I want to see them all dead," Dyer said in response to Fortis's question. He intended to see this statement through. They had done one too many deeds against the Resistance. It was time for them to stop once and for all. Eliminating them might give the Resistance a large enough hold on this portion of the Game to drive out the Vlad and begin to gain some real footing in this war. "Let's find where they make home."
"More than willingly will I shove a few knives in their backs," Lilly glanced between the two men, "let's go get our stuff back." She let a small smile cross her face, "who knows, we might even get something new."
Lilly hoped that her 'take-all' attitude didn't make either of them question any kind of profession she might be in. She shook her head a tiny bit, wishing she could take the statement back, the last thing she needed was to get caught. She knew how to be careful, but actually being more careful was a different thing.
"If that's what you're into." She shrugged, giving the motion a carefree look as she scanned the direction the group had taken, before looking to the ground for their prints. With one last glance between them she started walking.

Fortis nodded. He was in all the way. These criminals had to be destroyed once and for all and finally, Fortis had a chance to crush them. He made sure that everything not stolen was ready for action.
Fortis looked at his companion, and nodded. He started to follow 'Kylin,' as it was obvious that she was tracking the gang. The gang members were on horseback, which was a huge advantage, but his companions looked used to challenges. Fortis loved a good challenge.
Dyer followed close behind Lilly. He had no idea how far they would have to walk before they caught up with the people on horseback, but however far it was it was too far. He wanted to get on with this revenge attacks, then get back to his people.
Getting the poison back was more important than his attacks. If that was out in the world then the Resistance and Vlad and civilians alike would suffer. When he got back from this adventure he would need to produce a lot more of the antidote, just in case they managed to recreate the poison. It was unlikely, but there were some very smart people in the Game. Hopefully he wouldn't need to use the antidote, but better safe than sorry.
Lilly glanced back at her two companions quickly before turning her eyes back to the ground. The horses' prints were hardly hidden, so the hardest part would be taking them on. Maybe. She rotated her shoulders before picking up her pace a little bit, she wasn't eager to go looking for the group but she wasn't at all reluctant either.
Just don- Lilly forced the voice in her head back as it spoke up. She was going to do whatever to get in there, take some nice things, stay alive, kill some of them, and bolt. The smallest of smiles crossed her face at the idea of new gear.
While walking in silence, Fortis tried not to think of what would happen if this this wasn't all sort of an elaborate trap to ensnare him. Although he logically rebutted this irrational thought, his mind continued to wander. If they wanted me they would have confronted me already, he reminded himself.
Maybe, just maybe after this little misadventure I could recruit these wonderers. The Vlad need as many agents as possible to combat the bloodthirsty and dishonorable Resistance and the lawless renegades known as the Gang. Skilled fighters and good listeners would be a great advantage to the Vlad's ranks.
Dyer kept his eyes on the ground, following the hoof prints in the dirt. They were so obvious he was almost disappointed. It had been a long while since he had been able to put his tracking skills to the test. The Government had strained him quite well in the art of tracking, as well as pretty much everything else. Too bad one man's skill wasn't enough to topple a solid political structure, no matter how corrupt.
He pushed the thoughts out of his head, his vendetta could wait, right now he needed to worry about the poison. He didn't want to think of what would happen if it got on the black market. Given its way of making people hurt outside of the Game as well, it would be much worse than characters dying through the Game. He knew to avoid vital organs when using the poison, for a stab to the heart could stop it in the player as well, but in the hands of amateurs it could cause major damage. Nothing else mattered for now. He needed to get the poison back. When he succeeded with that, then he would be able to worry about his war.
Lilly glanced back at the two men though she didn't speak. She knew they had to get their gear back and she couldn't help but to notice Dyer's edginess. Frowning mentally, she sped up a little, her eyes scanning across the ground. Her hand closed into a fist. The sooner we get rid of them the sooner we can make a move here. A move we desperately need.
Lilly shook her head, clearing it before blinking and looking around, she cursed herself as she realized she had been ignoring her surroundings.
Fortis looked into the distance and cursed. He could see the jagged outlines of the massive Catacomb Cliffs looming menacingly ahead. He had been to preoccupied in his thoughts to notice where the robbers had headed.I will never do that again, or else I will find myself in big trouble.
The Catacomb Cliffs were one of his least favorite locations in the Game. Period. There was a plethora of caves, tunnels, holes, caverns and more. All of them waiting to swallow you whole and either spit you out dead, or not at all.
Fortis found himself gripping his hand-and-half so tight, that he suspected his knuckles were white under his armored gloves. Blast. Why did they have to come here, of all places! Now we are in for a real adventure, not just a walk like we thought.
Dyer watched the world around him as they walked, making sure no more bandits attacked them. He did not want to lose what little he had left with him. As the Catacomb Cliffs came into view he smiled. The Cliffs were one of his favorite places. Easy to hide and sneak up on people. Always a challenge. Tested every one of his senses every second.
The smile disappeared quickly. There were bad memories associated with the place as well. The Government used it as final initiation. There were people involved he would much rather forget about.
Hopefully he could now get better memories associated with it again. With any luck they could get their equipment back without being eaten by a dragon. That would really sour the memories.
Lilly looked up from the ground as the Catacombs came into view and suppressed a shudder. She never liked this place and she probably never would. While she was skilled with knives, she had to admit that she wasn't always out to stab someone in the back. And, well, anyone who lurked among the rocks usually had no problem doing so, using the seemingly endless mazes to their advantage.
Forcing her thoughts to clear, Lilly let her mind focus on their task, get rid of this group and get your stuff back. Everything else can wait. She let out a short breath, only half concealing that she had been holding it only moments before. Letting herself remember that it wasn't only men that lurked, but beasts as well.
Fortis rolled his shoulders in anticipation. As much as he hated the caves, he enjoyed the mental and physical challenge that hunting gang brought. Fortis was ready for some action.
"Alright, let's do this before I regain my sanity," he muttered just loud enough for his companions could hear.
As they cautiously approached the cliff, Fortis was aware of how silent everything was. No birds were chirping or wind rustling. He felt that something was going to happen, for good or for nil, in those blasted caves.
Fortis gripped his sword and stopped a hundred yards from the cliff. Because of his limited tracking ability, he didn't know which cavern entrance to choose.
