Virtual reality is a roleplay site about, as the name suggests, a virtual universe. In the not to distant future scientists created a high tech video game called The Game. The Game was not originally called the Game, but when the war broke out, everyone forgot what the real name was, and it was referred to as the Game. Not long after they developed another version. They made it for fun, but over time it has become dangerous. The Government has banned the game from being used, except by the military for training, but a resistance has arisen and gotten possession of the game. The Rebellion is fighting the tyrannical Government to regain rights for civilians and to free the world of cruel leaders. Little does anyone know, but the game is still used for fun on another planet colonized by Earth, but has long since been forgotten. A rebellion is in its infant stages on the world of Zeme, will it be able to bring down the Vlad from its remote base, or will it fail to grow? Will the resistance be able to crush the Vlad and help the Rebellion on Earth, and free the people of Zeme of the tyrannical government? Will the people on Zeme discover the war going on in their beloved game or will they remain ignorant? Will the resistance bring down the Vlad, or will the Vlad prevail and punish the rebels and their sympathizers?
Obviously you've noticed the involuntary change pushed on us. Sadly this meant I had to rework all of the coding. That unfortunately led to us restarting out money count. There will be little change until I can figure out more about this new system. I will still manually take the money from your account when you purchase something. As of now you will only receive 1 penny from posting and exalting will give none. There is also a bank with a 1.5% interest that you can deposit money into. It is found at the bottom left of the screen. There is a stock market there temporarily, but I will likely remove it soon. There is also a possibility of us adding jobs soon with wages.
Dyer waited until Fortis had taken out the criminal that had them pinned, then shot out from behind the cover. His feet followed the path he had picked out, never missing the open spots on the floor that he had seen. He made it across the cave in a matter of seconds before diving and grabbing the handles of his swords as he started to roll. As he came out of the roll, one sword left its sheath, blade slicing through the air to connect with a bandit's neck.
After that man's body collapsed to the ground, Dyer turned around with his sword raised. Every resident of the cavern was either dead or fleeing through the tunnels. The only living souls were the three companions.
With a sigh the Resistance leader sheathed his sword and fit his weapons back into their places.
"You two good?" He called out once his mobile armory was restocked.
Lilly shook her fur, spattering blood drops everywhere before pushing her ears back against her head. Great. She eyed all the bodies, this should be interesting. All of the men seemed significantly bigger built than Lilly and she knew it was going to be a problem of getting tangled in the extra material of their clothes. Still, she couldn't traipse around without any.
Grabbing one of the bodies, Lilly dragged it away and into a small off shoot tunnel and shifted back to her human form. She gritted her teeth at the pain of the transformation and wounds. She took the clothes off the body before putting them on herself, she shook her head a little and emerged.
"Yeah, I'm fine. How about you two?" She scratched at her arms, cursing the naked feeling of not having her armor on. This was going to be interesting if they got attacked again.
Fortis instinctively reached for the trauma kit on his left thigh. Unfortunately, it wasn't available in this version of the Game. Blast. I've always had a med kit on me since the Academy and rarely needed it. Now I need it most in a unrealistic, fantasy virtual word with idiotic rules. Stupid Game. Without an artificial coagulant, Fortis managed to fashion a tourniquet from his belt and cloak to stop the majority of the bleeding.
With his left arm numb, and right leg immobilized, Fortis knew that he was in trouble. Actually, that was an understatement, more like "in critical condition" as Amicus would have said. He managed to crawl onto the chest which had provided him cover, on this he perched, an eagle with clipped wings. "Yeah, I'm peachy." Fortis forced a grin to his comrades. "So, this sucks." The hoarse words were aimed towards no one in particular. Motioning to the defeated gangsters with his head, Fortis muttered "at least we beat the bad guys."
Fortis mentally checked his armaments. He had his knives, but neither sword. Though exhausted and woozy due to blood lose, Fortis tried to stand. Luckily, he could stand, but he felt a rushing sensation in his head and Fortis's knees collapsed. His face was introduced to the cold stone floor. "My swords....gimme me my blasted swords," Fortis managed before slipping into the empty blackness of unconsciousness.

Dyer watched Fortis and shook his head when the man collapsed. He scanned the ground for any items of value to him, but decided there was nothing worth the extra weight. An assassin, especially one with virtually unlimited resources, values speed and stealth more than almost anything.
After deciding this, he turned to his general. "What should we do with him?" He motioned at their downed companion. "He's not going to be much help if he wakes up." An assassin also doesn't get attached to people very quickly.
Lilly eyed Fortis, it was obvious the man's condition was not the best and he probably wasn't going to be walking anywhere anytime soon and there was no way she was carrying him. Her eyes flickered around before taking a few things, knives mostly, something easy to slip between someone's ribs if it came to it. Glancing at Dyer, the young woman shrugged, "probably not, but I have no idea. It doesn't feel right to just leave him though, even if he could be a burden when he wakes." There was no emotion to Lilly's voice but she couldn't help but to be at least somewhat loyal to the unconscious man in front of them, he had saved thier lives after all. "We certainly don't have to keep him, maybe wait, get him out of here and then ditch? We wouldn't have any more responsibility than that if any at all." She tapped her chin as she eyed the man.
Dyer nodded as his general spoke. "Search the cavern, maybe they have a health potion around here somewhere." He immediately walked back to the body of the wizard he killed. He rummaged through the man's robes, hoping to find his hand meeting the familiar feel of a glass potion bottle. No luck.
He shook his head and stood up. His eyes scanned the floor before he decided to check one of the chests. He walked to the nearest one. A swift bash with the hilt of his sword broke the lock. The heavy wood lid opened with ease. The contents almost blinded him. Hundreds of gold coins and jewels glowed in the dim light of the cave. "Dang. In need of any money? There's enough here to buy the whole freaking city."
He dropped the lid and walked to the next chest. All daggers and knives. Most worth very little, but he noticed one or two that could fetch a pretty penny. Too bad he had no need for new weapons or money.
The next chest had what he was looking for. Inside were vials of various liquids. Some he recognized as poisons, others as antidotes, some he didn't recognize at all. After some rummaging he found the signature scarlet of the health potion.
Lilly chuckled, patting one of the men down before turning out his pockets and let them spill out onto the floor next to him before walking to the next man. "Hey, a city could come in handy, besides, I have plenty of money, if I remember where I stashed it." A grin crossed her face as she continued to search.
"Ha." Lilly had fallen silent for a number of minutes before she found the dagger that she had stolen just before it had been stolen from her. "Thanks for holding onto it buddy, I'd hate to have lost it." She tucked it into her belt then turned back to Dyer. "Found one? Good, let's get the hell out of here."
"I already have a city. That and unlimited wealth, more or less," Dyer reminded her. He took the potion and walked to their down comrade. The potion was useless if the man couldn't swallow it, so he rolled the knight onto his back. He slapped the man across the face. When that didn't work he took his flask and dumped water on him.
Fortis would've killed tried to kill Dyer if it hadn't been for his injured limbs, blood loss and incoordination they caused. The water helped him regain his senses and prevent him from cursing, a vice he didn't tolerate in himself. Sputtering, he looked around the room.
"Looks like we won," croaked Fortis. That's another thing to add to the list, I hate the Game because of the realistic feelings. People should live life in the real world, not in this virtual fantasy. Then Fortis remembered that a very real war was being fought in the fake world and decided that it like the war on Zume, should be taken seriously..
Dyer helped Fortis drink the potion. Instantly, his innards felt like he had just chugged a keg of napalm. He grabbed an enemy knife in each hand and stabbed them into the chest. Even in pain, he wouldn't abuse his weapons. Kneeling and fists clenched, remained, persevering through the intense burning. Every artery, every vein throbbed, then burned. Fortis could imagine every cell in his body being seared.
After what seemed like an eternity, the pain subsided. He let go of the knives, and snapped off the arrow heads then pulled out the shafts. As he threw them aside, he managed to stand. Once he brushed himself off, he found that every weapon was in it's place. Even the dragon egg was under his cloak. Half smiling, Fortis looked each of his almost-friends in the eyes.
"Thank you," Fortis sincerely said. "That's the last thing I expected you to do. Normal roamers don't look out for each other, so I appreciate it." Since Amicus's death, this was all Fortis could manage. His men knew that even a small word of thanks meant a lot more than it sounded.
Lilly let herself be content with eyeing Fortis and Dyer before she went back to searching the room. She spent no more than a few moments one each man, a thief's hands had to be quick and she wasn't going to waste time in a place like this. Other than a few more coins the young woman didn't take much else. "Alright, can we get out of here please? Before something else pops up, something worse probably." Her eyes scanned over them then the cave again.
Dyer nodded. "Yeah, let's get out of here. I get the feeling this wasn't all of them. Don't want the others showing up."
He scanned the area once more, then turned and walked to one of the tunnels. His eyes strained to see through the darkness, but to no avail. He shrugged and stepped into it. "This looks as good as any," he said, walking further down it.
Fortis grimaced at the thought of yet more darkness, but he gritted his teeth and took point, plunging into the tunnel. As the darkness surrounded him, he became more weary for hidden bandits. With a knife in each hand, he plodded along in the dim tunnels, stepping as silently as possible. Sadly, stealth wasn't his forte, this was obvious by since his character made considerable noise next to that of his companions. However, as an experienced warrior, he knew the value of surprise, and its effect on battle. Presently, the tunnel widened into a large chamber. Fortis stopped in the darkness of the tunnel, casting an experienced eye into the massive room. He saw no ambush ready bandits, but just in case, he crouched, picked up a stone and tossed into the room, waiting for untrained bandits moving in suprise. Instead, an angry, monstrous roar filled the air.
